Bow Place - Respite Workers

Bow Place offers a six bed respite home for adults and children with moderate to severe disabilities. We offer a home like setting providing support with daily living and activities.

Relief workers needed for respite home for children and adults with disabilities.

Requirements:
Attention to all areas of daily living
Able to work as a team member and independently
Willingness to learn
Communicate and liaise with co-workers and supervisors to ensure quality service
Good written and verbal communication skills
Experience required in all areas of personal care
Knowledge of tube feedings and oxygen therapy
Medication Administration Certificate an asset

Qualifications:
Grade 12 Diploma
Current CPR and First Aid Certification
6 months relevant experience working with children and/or adults with disabilities

Remuneration is commensurate with education and experience.

Respite Opportunities Available

The Community Respite Network (CRN) at the Developmental Disabilities Resource Centre of Calgary (DDRC) is looking for caring individuals to provide occasional respite to families who have a child with a developmental disability. This is a great opportunity to make some extra money and to make a difference in others lives, work flexible hours by setting your own work schedule, and to meet others in your own community. Respite can take place in your home or the family's home, depending on the individual situation.

Wages are determined by the type and length of respite provided.

In-Home Support Services

Our In-Home Support Services Division is currently looking for Community Support Workers to provide home care to seniors and Respite Care Aides for adults and children.

For the Community Support Workers/Health Care Aides, we require that you have certification as a Personal Care Attendant or equivalent or that you are a student with clinical experience. Current CPR/First Aid and your own transportation are also required.

For the Respite Care Aides we prefer that you have some working experience with disabilities and some relevant education to provide respite care to adults and children. Immediate relief and casual openings for daytime, weekend and evenings throughout the city are available.

Community Resource Workers

37.5 hours per week (Full-Time) One Year Contract

The Developmental Disabilities Resource Centre of Calgary (DDRC) is committed to facilitating the inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities into the community in real and meaningful ways and increasing the communities capacity to include all Calgarians so that everyone belongs.

We are hiring for Community Resource Workers to support individuals with developmental disabilities in career exploration, volunteer and leisure opportunities, job support and facilitating the development of meaningful relationships. There are positions available at various locations throughout the city! Training will be provided to successful applicants.

Requirements:
Provide support to clients in a variety of community settings
Advocating for inclusive opportunities
Reliable vehicle

Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in human services and/or experience

One year contract includes full benefits after defined periods of time.
